Choosing the right countertop can make all the difference in the functionality and aesthetics of your space.
STONE SELECTION
There are a variety of options available, including natural stone, such as granite, marble, dolomite, and quartzite. However, since these are slightly porous, we therefore suggest sealing countertops every 2-3 years and selecting granite, hard quartzite, or dolomite. On the other hand, although beautiful, marble is a softer natural stone; consequently, it is more prone to staining, scratching, and chipping, especially when exposed to outdoor elements.
In addition, Dekton is an engineered stone made from a blend of glass, porcelain, and quartz. Additionally, it offers UV resistance for color stability outdoors. Furthermore, it boasts exceptional strength and high resistance to impacts, scratches, and abrasion. Moreover, it features almost zero water absorption.
COLOR & TEXTURE
For a modern or contemporary space, we suggest going with a light grey, black, or white color combination. Not only will it ooze sophistication, but it also incorporates a level of softness, which, in turn, eliminates sterility.
There are three options, polished, honed and leathered. With a smooth, glossy finish, polished countertops have the potential for being your outdoor kitchen’s focal point. Honed countertops offer a matte look, giving a softer look without disturbing the colors and patterns of the countertop. Leathered countertops offer a textured look and highlight the natural characteristics of the stone.
